What is Conflict Continuum?
This is the scientific social explanation of the progression of a physical attack through multiple stages.
Conflict Continuum Self Protection Program is a comprehensive structured seminar that covers basic martial arts concepts that can be utilized against a whole multitude of common assaults; thus, obtaining maximum memory retention. This program teaches proven common-sense tactics that can reduce the likelihood of having to use these techniques, but teaches the most effective way to defend yourself in the event of a physical assault.
Students in this program learn how to improve their confidence in difficult situations, learn the conflict continuum, how to stay calm in a physical confrontation and the do's and don'ts to keep themselves safe. Students participate in real life situations such as grabs, chokes, common self-defense weapons you can use, and rape position defense.
Where does it come from?
Conflict Continuum was created by Grandmaster James Ziots, PhD and is based on concepts that are taken from the martial arts system of Chon Sul Kwan (Tactical Hapkido). Chon Sul Kwan Hapkido was created by Grandmaster Barry Rodemaker, Founder and President of Tactical Hapkido Alliance. The skills in Conflict Continuum provide the student only a taste of the system as a whole while teaching them some basic life saving skills.
Can I enroll in an actual class?
This class is taught by our certified Instructors in various locations around the United States. In Yorktown VA, this class is taught by 4th DAN Master of Tactical Hapkido Alliance & Conflict Continuum Director Brad Bennett. This is a two-and-a-half hour course that is open to all individuals or groups, and a class can be provided at your location at a low cost per attendee. Tactical Hapkido Alliance charter schools may also hold this course at various times throughout the year.
